Hands-On Tutorial
Medical Inquiry Handling end-to-end with AI | AI Academy
Handling a medical inquiry efficiently while maintaining scientific rigor is at the heart of Medical Information (MI) work. In this hands-on tutorial, see how this looks like when AI is integrated into the whole workflow. Claudia Guenoden from Chiesi and PIPA will walk through how they manage an inquiry from start to finish using AI.
You’ll gain insight into Chiesi’s approach to embedding AI, covering the full journey from inquiry intake, content discovery, and new evidence identification to response creation and delivery. Along the way, you’ll see how AI can drive productivity gains and the rail guards put into place to maintain scientific excellence.
The session will also highlight practical lessons learned, including do’s and don’ts for applying AI in real-world MI workflows, providing guidance that participants can apply immediately in their own teams.

A new kind of expert:
MI expertise amplified by AI application
While some suggest that AI could replace Medical Information (MI) Specialists, we believe the opposite is true: the expertise of highly trained MI professionals will be more essential than ever.
Ignoring AI means clinging to outdated practices, while using it without deep MI expertise risks scaling poor processes.
A new kind of expert is emerging in our field: professionals, who understand both high-quality MI standards and how to use AI effectively in their workflows.
They are becoming Super Medical Information Leaders (SMILs).
